This is an attempt to try and bring all of this back around to relate to the topic of this blog.
Now that I'm over 40, I feel an obligation to live as I believe. How many of us are saying one thing and living something else? Do we say we care about saving the environment and yet still live exactly as we had before, without trying to lower our "carbon footprint?" Are there social issues we talk about but take no action in terms of trying to help? I think action is the key that Americans in are missing. This last election was one of the most important of our time. If not the most important. A black man running for president on a centrist platform. Wow! Making history. Yet only a bit over 50% of voters voted. All elections are like that. Even smaller percentages come into play at local levels. Disturbing. I don't think it's laziness either. I think Americans feel that we don't really matter, that our voices aren't really getting heard.
Im 40 now, shouldn't I be heard? Haven't I earned that?
I'm calling myself into action. But what should I do? Thoughts?
